Sean and Eleni contacted me from Australia. They had decided to get married in Skopelos and needed someone to provide the flower arrangements for the venue, the bridal and bridesmaids’ bouquets, the church candelabras and the boutonnieres for the groom and groomsmen. They were having a religious ceremony at the Panagitsa Church, located at the very end of the port in Skopelos Town and the venue was a local taverna with live greek music.
The couple wanted something fresh, simple and white. The idea was that the flowers looked as if they had just been picked. The flowers included roses, lyssianthus, alstroemeria and limonium. For the table arrangements, the flowers were placed in different sized mason jars that had been wreathed in white lace and surrounded by candles. The bride’s bouquet was made exclusively out of white freesias. The bridesmaids’ bouquets were made of roses and alstroemeria.
The bride arrived to church in small fishing boat as her father waited for her at the bottom of the stairs and the groom 70 stairs up! After the ceremony, the couple took their guests on a 1 hour boat trip for cocktails, since the ceremony was in the early afternoon and dinner would not begin until 8:30 p.m. Everyone arrived at the candlelit taverna ready to have a great time. And a great time they had!
